So much has been happening in the last few weeks and we are so glad that God is using us here in Bolivia!
Jessica is due to finish her Spanish classes the week before Thanksgiving. Then the week after Thanksgiving our mission director and his wife will be visiting for two weeks. We are excited about this visit and are already planning several meetings while they are here. Please pray for me as I plan to travel with them and help interpret for them. This is very hard with the limited Spanish that I have.
Within the last 2 weeks, another missionary family here from our home church, the Fannings, found out that Mrs. Darlene has cancer. It was recommended by the doctors here to return to the states for treatment. We are praying for God to heal her and bring her back to Bolivia soon. But in the mean time the Fannings have asked us to take over their church while they are gone. So we have made the change from Coqueni, the church we were helping, to Ancla, the Fannings church. We are happy that we were here and are able to help during this difficult time. Please help us pray that we can help keep this church encouraged and moving forward in this difficult time.
Before all this happened with Mrs. Darlene we had already planned a trip back to the States for a few months. Due to our current visa status, we are only allowed certain timeframes in the states and we wanted to take advantage of this time before we try to start our first church. We have several stateside churches we need to visit and we also need to have some medical visits for Ellie and ourselves. We are very excited about spending Ellie’s first Christmas and her first birthday with our families before returning to Bolivia.
Upon returning to Bolivia, our goal has been to start our first church here. The name Truth Baptist Church has been on our hearts. This is mainly because there is so much religion here, but so little TRUTH. We believe God has led us to start in an area called Sopocachi. This area is considerably more expensive than where we had originally planned to start. However, this plan may depend on the situation with the Fannings and the need at that time. Please help us pray for God’s leadership in when and how to start.
The printing ministry is still very busy. We just completed a hymnal project and we are preparing to begin a couple of Bible projects. This ministry has been such a great blessing to the churches here in Bolivia and has more than exceeded our expectations when we started it. We have calls about every week for help with different things. What a blessing it is to be used by God in this ministry!!!
Thank you for praying for the needs we mentioned in our last letter. Although she is still growing very slowly, Ellie continues to do well. Also, the Lord provided the piano that we were praying about! This will be such a blessing once we begin a church.
We pray that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas! God bless you all!
