December 2018 Update
Good Day From Bolivia,
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your church and your family. We enjoyed our’s here with another missionary family.
The new church is running well so far. We have only been going for a little over a month and it seems to be going good. We have averaged about 45 people each week, about 1/3rd of these are adults. We have been very excited for the great attendance so far, especially since it has been rainy season. What a blessing it has been to have all the adults we have had. Most new works start with all children but we have seemingly started with a good mixture of ages. We probably have a good core group of about 30 people that have been coming to all our services. The rest of our congregation have been visitors just checking us out, which is fine because we want to win them too.
Word about the new church seems to be getting out. We have started to make a few connections within the community. People are starting to recognize us in the streets. They will stop and talk to us or ask us questions. As we knock doors, we have a lot that know exactly where the church is. These are great signs.
We are working towards our plans for Christmas right now. We are hoping to have a special service. We are going to do invitations and try to invite all the neighbors for our service. We would ask that you pray for this service as we hope to have several visitors. Please pray for our activities in January. Here it is summer and the schools are out for summer vacation. We are hoping to take advantage of this with a vacation bible school. Our goal is to use this to possibly start a weekly children’s program.
Before we finish, we would like to ask you to pray for our son Daniel. In the last week or two, his foot has been swelling up. We have consulted doctors, done XRays and blood tests, etc... Everything has come back just fine. So far, we cant really figure out what is happening. Our last doctor consultation told us to wait a few more days to see if it will get better on it’s own. So far, it is not improving. Our desire is that he would be better by Christmas so that he can enjoy Christmas Day.
