June 2019 Update

Greetings once again from Bolivia. We are entering our winter months here and things are cooling down. The people around us are freezing but it feels wonderful to us to be below 80*.

In May, we celebrated the Bolivian Mothers day. Here Mothers day isn't until the 27th of the month. We had an attendance of about 50-60 people, 15 of which were mothers. Why is this number so good to us? Because all we did was make invitations and give them to our people. They did the rest. This is the first holiday we have celebrated in the church where we really let the people give out the invitations. It was an encouragement to see them do their part.

We just had a couple visiting from the States for a few days. While they were here we were able to have a movie night at our 2nd church. We had a great turnout of about 60 people to see the movie on the life of Christ. I was surprised to see that many. That night it was rainy and cold and it was also very muddy outside. Due to the rain, we hadnt been able to knock doors like we wanted to but they came anyway. We had some that made professions of faith. One was a lady we have been working with for a while. Please pray for her and her husband. Her husband has been very negative about her coming to church.

We also have a need we would like to mention for our second church. There may be a church that has an extra set of offering plates. If that is true, we would like to ask if you would be willing to pass them on to this church. We prefer wooden ones if possible. I remember we asked the same a few years ago and a supporting church sent us 8 unused offering plates! All of those have been put to use but now we are in need of more.

We would also like to ask for your prayers for some events in July. We have a group of 9 people coming from one of our supporting churches. We plan on having VBS in both of our churches. We also have special services planned in our first church. I am hoping and planning on some big days but more importantly for souls to be saved as a result.

Before we close, I want to update you on our children. We had asked a few months back for you to pray for Daniel’s health and for his swollen foot. It stayed very swollen for about 2-3 months. Honestly, we never really figured out what the problem was but it has seemed to go away. He is doing great. Ellie is doing well too. She still has what we call her “autism days” where she can't focus or seem to do a lot. This is especially true when she is experiencing change or stress. But she seems to have more good days than bad. She is doing well in her preschool classes too and will start kindergarten in the fall. We appreciate your continued prayers for us and for our children.
