May 2022 Prayer Letter
Good Day from the Murray Family,
This last month has been a fruitful one for the ministry. The Lord has blessed us with safe travels and good church meetings here stateside. He has also been moving the ministry in Bolivia forward for His glory.
Our second church had a recent victory. A young lady in the church named Janet has been saved for a few years and has wanted to be baptized for most of that time, but her parents would not allow her to do so. She has approached us about helping teach a children’s class but again, her parents would not let her. Over the last several weeks, this continued burden caused her to approach Pastor Rogelio again. They spoke with her parents, and she was finally given permission to be baptized. Knowing Janet’s desire to help teach the children, Rogelio’s wife had already been training her in this area. Janet started teaching a class almost immediately. Please pray for her parents to get right with God. They have both made professions of faith in the past but have never shown any evidence of salvation. Also pray for Janet to stay faithful and focused on the things of God.
When we wrote last month, we mentioned some issues with the land we were trying to buy for our newest church plant. The property owners were pushing for us to purchase more land than what we had originally agreed upon. We were not prepared to do that, so we had to back out of the deal. Almost immediately, we found another property of the same size and in a better location. Our lawyer has looked over the paperwork. While all the documents are not completely in order, she believes this can be remedied easily. Trusting God will work all this out, we signed a contract for the purchase of this land! Our church people are very excited and have already cleared and fenced in the property. We are praying the paperwork issues will be resolved by the time we return to Bolivia in August, and we can then begin construction.
In the coming weeks, we will be adding a country to our list of places we have reached with our scripture distribution efforts. Throughout our 8 1/2 years in Bolivia, we have sent out scripture to 5 additional South American countries; some by mail, some by bus, some by plane. This delivery will be by car. Danny is a man from Uruguay who came to Bolivia for marriage. During the last few years, as his family grew, the Lord burdened him to return to Uruguay as a missionary. He and his family are transitioning back, so to help him get started, we will be sending cases of scripture and tracts with him. He has the desire to set up a scripture distribution point just as we have in Bolivia. We will be working to help him in this endeavor.
We appreciate the interest some of you have shown regarding our new mission project. Only a month has passed since this project was put on paper and we began presenting it. We are already at about 20% of our goal for the land purchase. We have been asking for 50 churches that would be willing to give $2,000 or more, and several have already done so. We have had some churches contact us for more information so they can make plans to help. We still have a long way to go but we are very grateful for the encouraging response so far.
Thank you so much for your faithfulness toward our family with prayers and financial support. We love what God has called us to do in Bolivia. Thank you for allowing Him to use you to make this possible.
