February 2022 Update
Good Day from the Murray Family,
We are grateful for all the Lord is doing in the ministry in Bolivia. Though we have not been able to be in Bolivia for the last few months, we do stay in regular contact with our people. We love hearing how well all 3 churches are doing.
The new outreach just finished a discipleship class with about 8 new believers. These people have shown dedication and commitment to the gospel. We typically see people start the discipleship class but not finish. It is a blessing to see this many complete the full course. I look forward to seeing what God will do with them as each shows a continued commitment to the Lord.
Another blessing is to see Bearing Precious Seed (our 2nd church) going forward. This past month they installed some small roofs where they normally have the children’s classes. We were using canvas canopies, but the wind kept ripping them. The church people invested in more substantial shelter to help guard the children from the weather as they learn about our Savior. This is the first project the people have invested their own money into since we turned it over. There have been other projects planned and completed and the cost has always been covered by the general fund, but this time they gave extra during love offerings to make this improvement. This is truly a huge step for a newly autonomous church. It gives us joy to watch them start showing their faith.
This past month we celebrated both Ellie’s and Daniel’s birthdays. Ellie turned 8 and Daniel turned 6. We love watching them grow and learn, which is happening way too quickly for our comfort! Thank you to all who sent messages or cards to wish them a happy birthday. They enjoyed receiving them.
As of this writing, Jessica and I are on a plane headed to Bolivia. We must take care of some general documents and such. While in Bolivia, we will also be checking in on our churches, shipping scriptures and checking on our home. This is our first time traveling together without our children since they were born. We are grateful for family close by who are helping to care for the children as we handle these necessary tasks. Many have asked when we plan to return to Bolivia as a family. Let me start by saying we all are ready to go back. The entire family misses Bolivia and is ready to return immediately but it seems that we probably won’t be able to until late September. We must take care of a few other things in the states, one of which will require us to be stateside for at least another 6 months beginning when we return from this trip. Our unexpected medical leave threw off our original plans. Since I had many things already scheduled, this 6-month period is delayed as well.
Thank you for your prayers as we wait for a few things to fall into place. And thank you for helping us be in the ministry in Bolivia. We truly appreciate you partnering with us to reach Bolivia for Christ.
