March 2022 Prayer Letter

Good Day from the Murray Family,

We bless the Lord for His goodness to our family.  Every day we have been able to see His hand at work and we are thankful for that.

Jessica and I needed to travel back to Bolivia last month to take care of some time-sensitive paperwork. It was a successful, refreshing trip for us and we were able to complete the work we went to do plus handle some ministry needs.  We shipped scripture to a missionary who just started a brand-new church out in the jungle.  We also met with a national to discuss our next potential church plant. It was a fruitful trip, but it was hard to be away from our children, though they were safe with family.

We would like to announce that our new church land project is COMPLETE!  We want to thank each one who was willing to invest in this outreach.  We are excited to move forward, and we are already looking to buy the property.  While in Bolivia last month, we found a parcel that we like, and it is a good price. We have trusted individuals looking over the paperwork to make sure everything is in order.  If it is, we will go ahead and make the purchase, but construction will wait until after our return so that we can oversee it.  Please continue to pray over this outreach as we begin the work of building a permanent location.  Our desire is for it to be a fully autonomous church within 2 years. There is a lot to do between now and then.

Some have asked for an update on Ellie.  Ellie’s arm is doing much better.  Except for a nasty looking scar, you would hardly know anything had been broken or that it required 4 surgeries.  As normally happens, when we arrived in the states last summer, her autism became more noticeable. Her tics were much worse than we had seen in the past.  Everything we had tried before just was not helping.  We sought more professional help and she is now improving.  We can still see signs of the tics, but she is doing better than she was just a few months ago.  Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Our trip last month reignited our desire to return home to Bolivia.  Jessica and I came back to the states and immediately felt homesick.  Previously, I mentioned the need to stay stateside for a six-month continuous period of time. That is no longer necessary, so we are now planning to return to Bolivia a bit earlier than we had been anticipating.  We are very glad about that! We have church meetings scheduled into July that were booked months ago.  After these appointments are fulfilled, we will be returning to Bolivia very near the beginning of August.

Praise the Lord for what He is accomplishing in Bolivia. We are thrilled He lets us be a part of His work.  You are a part of this too through your continued prayers and financial support.
